Mother's Day

Saturday was a surprise birthday party for Annie, that was a ton of fun. We had all of the family over for barbecue and cake and ice cream. We totally surprised her and I think she felt special. (hope so because she is special.) I have the best sister ever!

So, I've been thinking a lot about how wonderful sisters are and how awesome for my girls to not have just ONE sister but TWO, to love and share their ups and downs. To share the joys and sorrows. To share youth and, one day, share motherhood.

Today is Mother's Day. I am honored and blessed to be a Mommy. Everyone of my girls are the best girls in the whole world! They are the most beautiful girls in the whole world! And they are mine!! (that's the most important reason that they are so amazing)

This week, Mikayla started saying even more words and communicating with "sign language" so fluently. So there were less meltdowns and more peace in our home.

Jami has such an amazing imagination! I was singing a song this week and she stopped me. She said, "Mom, you play dead and I'll sing and then you will come alive." I thought what in the world? Where did she get that? Then it hit me...the song I was singing says "This is what you do, this is what you do, you make me come alive" lol. I did explain that I was singing about God making our spirit come alive and that our bodies are not dead, but it's a lot more fun to a 3 year old to play dead, sing and then jump up as they come alive. Makes me smile.

Evelyn has found her feet, "talks" all the time, rolls all over the place and does NOT like to lay down. She needs to be up and seeing all that's going on. She even does a "squel" that makes Mikayla giggle that funniest laugh.

That's the greatest joy as a Mom. Sisters laughing together, playing together and making each other happy. You know why that's the greatest joy? Because that means that I have a happy home, full of joy and acceptance. My babies can be silly and have fun without any criticism or stifling.

I pray that God will guide my steps, that I can be the Mom that they need to be all that God has planned for them.
